Paint It, Black

Last night I went and saw Shine a Light in an IMAX theater. It was like being on stage with Mick, Keith, Charlie, and Ron.

Besides that the camera work and editing were pretty fab, the movie was filled with feel good charm and warmth.

There were moments when the camera would catch interactions between the band members or just little faces that made them see so personable, so real, and close enough to touch.

I loved it. LOVED it. When I was 8 or 9, my parents took me to a Stones concert. I left the concert full of Mick Jagger dance moves and gushing with some intense Rolling Stones love. Last night, it was like a transformation back into that little girl. That little girl who didn't know about the Spice Girls or TLC, but who thought the music industry consisted of the Stones, Motown, and James Brown.

I was so excited I could hardly sit still in my chair. Go see it.

  1. I love the Stones. I am pretty sure I was born loving the Stones. But I have, alas, never been to a concert. Was it amazing? Did you die at the brilliance that is Keith?
