What is this Mom School that you speak of?

I went grocery shopping today. I bought pomegranate, artichokes, broccoli and potatoes (I'm planning on making queche this weekend), and lemons. Am I really telling you my grocery list? Yes, apparently I am.

So, I am sick. I sound like Johnny Cash. It's a slice of foxy. Being sick and living away from home just makes me want my mommy.

My mom used to buy pomegranate -- turns out they tastes better when my mommy fixes it for me.

What's that about? It's cutting up a piece of fruit. How could I do that wrong?

When I am sick my mom makes me lemon and honey tea -- turns out the tea tastes better when mumsy makes it for me.

Why is that? Is it just that someone has made it for me? Or is there some Mommy school that no one talks about where moms learn the secret ingredient for honey and lemon tea (along with how entertain children on long trips, . I've seen her make it...its half a squeezed lemon, a spoonful of honey, and hot water. Her's just tastes better.

I miss my mommy.

  1. I still like it when my mother makes me a sandwich. I also find when we're invited to someone's home for dinner, no matter what is prepared, it tastes delicious. Having food prepared for you by someone else (even another mother) simply tastes better than food you've prepared yourself. Especially when you're sick. I hope you feel better soon, kitten. Enjoy the slice of foxy!

  2. I know what you mean. EVERYTHING tastes better when my mom makes it. Tea, sandwhiches, you name it, it's better.

I think though that it might not even be a mommy thing, it's an "other person" thing. Because I also think that B makes the most delicious tea. I just like it better when things are made *for* me. I'd be such a good ridiculously rich person who hired people to do everything for her. But such is life ...

  3. You always sometimes want your mommy. It is like they just no exactly what to do to make you feel not as bad. Regardless if it is tea or just giving you a hug and telling you your great. Sometimes you have to have that unconditional love.

  4. this never goes away. i feel like that too.

every. single. time i get sick.

i swear there is a mommy school because even when my friends' parents do it, it tastes better than when i try. it's just a mom thing. or not even. cause my aunt who doesn't have kids can do it too. i don't know what it is but i get what you're talking about. so that was longer and more random than i thought... oops.

so anyway, i'm sorry you're sick and you miss mumsy. feel better soon!
