I have 3 words for you (2 words?...2.5 words?): Salt N Pepa

Yesterday, I was one of the thousands of people who were at Flemington Race course at the music festival Good Vibrations. To be honest, this post would be pretty awesome if I could show you pictures. Except the website said you couldn't bring cameras in and I am a rule follower so I didn't bring a camera in...only to get there and see that everyone and their sister was wielding a camera. Le sigh.

It was so much fun - and the first act that we saw, the aforementioned Salt N Pepa, was so awesome that it made the whole day totally worth it.

I've been trying to write this post for over an hour...During the festival, I was all "I am totally blogging about this" and then this morning when I woke up tired, swollen eyed, and hoarse from screaming along to The Killers, I just feel like there isn't that much to say about it. People were drunk and high...I was not. People danced and screamed, as did I. The sun shined. A guy with giant biceps kept groping his girlfriend and jumping into me - I was not pleased. Salt N Pepa still rock - with the awesome triumverate of Shoop, Whatta Man, and Push It...I could not have been happier - and during Basement Jaxx set they had people dressed up like gorillas, obviously.

So, that was my weekend...how was yours?

  1. I saw Willie Nelson last weekend. Not quite the same energy. My husband made me go.
This weekend - all homeschooling and pretending like I'm doing my own homework.
    Which I'm totally NOT.

  6. Salt N Pepa are still doing shows?! Amazing. I heard them on the work radio this weekend. That was the highlight of my weekend, except for that gelato I had on Saturday.

  7. Oooh! I went dancing but no Salt N Pepa was played. Boo!!

I did see two small children dancing on a table to "I want you back" by Michael Jackson though. No gorilla suits, but pure awesome, just the same.

  9. Salt N Pepa! Wow, I wonder if they've ever been in Canada because I'd love to see them live.

I'm with you with the rule following. I'm going to an Alicia Keys concert this weekend and the website says no cameras or anything that takes pictures, so I'm afraid to even bring my cellphone!

  10. I'll trade you one live performance of Shoop for a drag queen runway walk off in a Parisian gay bar. Deal?
