Cheese 32: English Stilton & Big. Exciting. News.

Yesterday, I went to the Queen Victoria's Market to pick up the case of black beans that I ordered from the organic shop. I know what you must be thinking, a case of black beans? They do NOT sell black beans in this country. So, when I found a place that had them I went sometimes More is More. But when I got there, for some reason, my case of black beans hadn't arrived. SOB. So, I went to ease my woes in the cheese section where I picked an English Stilton wedge of cheese for no particular reason other than why not?

I ate it with sliced apple. It was delicious. A strange mix of creamy and crumbly that totally wooed me. MMM cheese.

In case you were all on the edge of your seats, I went to the doctor and in a few weeks I'll be changing my pill to a different strain of pills which should hopefully reduce the crazy ass symptoms. Fingers crossed.

The big news is...I'M EMPLOYED. I just accepted an offer for a job at one of my favourite companies in Melbourne. Victory! The position kind of scares the crap out of me because those of you that know me, whether it's from the blog or the real world, know that I despise three things...1. the phone. 2. talking to strangers. and 3. asking people for money. A triumvirate of terrifying. Well, this position is asking strangers for money on the phone. Holy Scary Hell (there is more to it than that. Obviously. But haven't you learned to not talk about work on the internet? Jeesh!). I am so relieved and also really nervous. I just can't win! But I start in a week and a half. Yee ha.

But Yay! Employed! Phew!

Also English Stilton and apples is the best. Sounds like the perfect day.

No black beans?! Aren't there any Mexican restaurants? And big congrats on the new gig!

Ev Rev - I know right! A big sigh a relief, maybe you heard it all the way in Paris?

Diary of Why - Thank you!

Megs - Thanks! Apples and Cheese is delish.

The Zadge - There are mexican restuarants but they do things like put pasta sauce on nachos and call it "salsa" it's a travesty - they mostly use kidney beans. You can occasionally get dried black beans, but that would involve planning ahead and soaking over night - and who has the time for that?

SO HAPPY FOR YOU! Congratulations on the new job!
Sorry it involves a phone and strangers, but it also involves a paycheck .. YEA!

Cheese and apples -MMMMMM yummy!

And I'm sorry ... WHAT?! No black beans?!
Are you in Australia or Hell my dear?

Get a P.O. box. Now. And I will freaking mail you some.
That's just inhumane and uncivilized.
Jesus, Mary, and Jose.

Hey that's briliant news! Congratulations!! You'll be able to buy more stilton (which I LOVE too) but, just a thought, will you have time now to keep up the cheese challenge ...

Hooray on the new job!

I'm jealous of your Stilton, I had a new refrigerator delivered today and tragically left my fabulous cheese collection in the old fridge. It's possible a Home Depot delivery man is enjoying my Vermont goat cheese this very evening.

Congratulations!

After reading your blog (your list) few days ago, I found myself strangely craving cheese. I finally stopped by the supermarket today to pick up two types of cheese which I will eat right after I type this comment! =)

Congrats on your job - I think? I feel you on the black beans. They're a staple at our house. Hope your case arrives soon!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Jessica - I know. I don't know how this fair nation survives. My sister in law contemplated mailing me some - but it was going to cost her her first born. TRAGIC.

Selina - Thank you! It will be tough - but I think I'll manage. Conveniently work is located near a cheese shop. :)

Susan - Indeed! One is in the works, we just have to wait a few weekends :)

linlah - I HOPE you are next. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Meg - YOU LEFT CHEESE IN THE FRIDGE. I am horrified by this, but hope that someone is treating it with the love and care that it deserves.

Random thoughts of a Jersey Mom - the real question is...what kind of cheese?

Rhea - THANK YOU! It is SUCH a relief.

Cheryl - Your welcome, black beans have always been a staple for me too. It's been a shock to the system realising I can't just go to the store and purchase some.

Wow, Deidre that is AWESOME.

And there's nothing better than facing your fears head on. If you can talk to strangers on the phone asking them for money, you can do anything!
