13 days: In other words, I need gifts ASAP

In 13 days, I'll be boarding a plane with Inspector Climate and taking 14 hour 10 minute long flight to Los Angeles. Now, I think Inspector Climate and I are nervous about this adventure for two different reasons. (Although, he doesn't admit to being nervous). He is meeting my whole family for the first - that's enough to make me nervous. The reasons I am nervous are long and plentiful. I haven't been home for 12 months. That's the longest I've ever gone without seeing my mom, hugging my dog, and going a horse back ride with my dad. The past 12 months have seen a lot of change in me. There has been some of the lowliest lows of crying and depression and chemical imbalance, but those can only be contrasted with the fact that Inspector Climate and I found each other...and squee! So why I am a nervous? I'm not really sure ... Hey, Maybe I'll write about that tomorrow!

Here's the problem. We need to bring presents home to my family. Particularly difficult to shop for are my grandparents. So, Inspector Climate and I came up with the idea of giving them a framed photograph of us. My grandmother LOVES framed photos...it's partly lame, and partly perfect, you know? So here are the options...

Why yes, all these photos are taken by us by holding the camera out in front of us. Classy?

What do you think?

  1. Well, I'm partial to the sombrero one, but the last one is really cute too. Either of those would work well, I think.

  2. I personally think the first one too (cuuuuute) as you can see both of your faces - no sunnies or anything (my Mum always tells me off when I wear sunnies in photo's - "I can't see your eyes!!!" and all that haha.

  5. Wow, I can't believe you haven't been home in a year! I can see why you would be nervous but I also think that your family will love Inspector Climate because you do :)

I like the first and last pics best.

  6. I like the forth one the best because it's got the best lighting, and you can clearly see both of your faces. However, I suspect that your grandmother (if anything like mine) would want to see your face without the sun glasses. For that reason, I think the first is the one to go with.

  7. I like the last one because you can see the landscape, which is kind of cool, because there is, you know, an ocean separating you, etc. And I also really like the sombrero one. But if your grandmother is anything like my grandmother (or parents, for that matter), she'll like the one where she can see your faces. So... option #1. Or all of the above. I dunno. I am no help.

  11. The first one is probably the one the shows both of you the best, but I'm partial to the second one.

    Have a great trip!
