Cliches are cliches for a reason or a love letter to Inspector Climate

Inspector Climate is away on business again. And today is his birthday. I gave him lots of presents to celebrate his birthday last weekend with his family, but I wanted him to have something to open on his special day. I decided to write him a letter which was NOT to be open until today and I immediately started writing it in my head, but I was supposed to be working, so I stopped and focused on my work.  When it was time to write him the actual letter, I had forgotten my brilliance. (Note to self, take notes).   So I wrote  different one, and sealed it, and when I said goodbye to him today, I remembered my original idea...so here it is.

Dear Inspector Climate,

The thing about love letters and their epitome of sap is because sometimes there is only one way to express things. "You complete me" "You had me at hello" "You make me feel safe" "You're my best friend" (Editor's note, Anne is my best friend) "You make me happy" (ok, you didn't have me at hello.  Not even close...you had me at heaps).

But the truth is this, you do complete me.  You make me so happy.  I've never felt safer.  And now that I've found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, I want the rest of my our lives to start right now.

I so look forward to growing up with you.  To seeing who you become at 33. 42. And 40 years from now 67.

Happy Birthday Inspector Climate,

much love
