NaBloPoMo Day 29: Am I a fraud?

I was reading this post over at Citizen of the Month about a post he wrote that caused the misconception that he is a short man when really he is six feet tall.

This got me thinking if there any misconceptions about me because of this blog.

But the truth is I really do ask Inspector Climate on nearly a daily basis if we can get a pet tiger.

I'm all of 5'4 and a half. Which someone once told me is perfectly average height.

I don't actually hate my hair - it's just unruly and I find that humorous, so I jest about it.

I'm a fussy eater.  But I like nearly all vegetables except eggplant (it's a deadly nightshade people, A DEADLY nightshade) and cooked mushrooms (slimy) and I'm not sold on chard (Swiss or otherwise).

I honestly don't own a single pair of jeans.  I do wear khakis the majority of time and if not khakis cords. and if not cords, pajamas.

That's the real truth.

What are some misconceptions people might have about you?

  1. Love it! I think people think I'm like really smart and I'm like really not. (And I don't like use like all the time! Like...threw that in for good measure!)

  2. My misconception is kind of annoying after a while. People seem to think I'm angry ALL the time. It's just my face. I could be totally relaxed and happy and focused at work and someone would come up to me and be like "What's wrong? Do you need to vent?" I'm friends with people now who thought I hated them because I wouldn't look up from my work when they walked by my desk to talk to someone else.
Curse of "constant bitch face" lol.

  3. I think most people assume that I am shallow and materialistic due to my pageant and fashion/makeup loving background. However anyone that knows me knows that I am a minimalist and would give my last cent a friend in need.

  4. This is an interesting topic. I think because we can really pick and choose what we talk about on our blogs, often we may portray ourselves differently from our "big picture" self. For what it's worth, I think you come across in a very authentic way!

  5. This is really interesting. I think I misrepresent myself all the time! I'm not nearly as shy as I make out that I am...well I feel just as shy but I don't come across that way in real life I guess. I think you have kept this blog really 'you', it's why yours is always the first blog I read everyday :)

  6. This was a fun post! Hmmm, I think people assume I live in the NorthEast. Not sure what they think I look like, but that would be a great question to ask my readers!

  7. Vanisha - I know, I'm a lucky girl :) haha.

Shannon - Aw! I would never have guessed that because your avatar is so friendly and happy! I think people think I'm a bitch too because I'm shy.

Marisa - It is interesting how sometimes our current actions get ignored due to some of our past activities.

Angela - Thank you! I try to be very honest and authentic, so I'm please to know that it shines through! That is a really tough part about blogging.

Many Colours of Happiness - Seriously, lady! That is so sweet. Shyness is one of those weird things. I am pretty shy myself, but sometimes I'm not at all!

Teacher Girl - Interesting that they think you live in the Northeast!
