Now, I'm not really one to talk about stats...and by that I mean blog stats. I could probably hold my own if we wanted to have a conversation about Big Papi's RBIs and batting average this season.
Not that we do.
I've used statcounter for nearly 6 years to help me monitor my blog's stats. I used to get so excited when I'd get like 50 hits a month. And to be honest, I still get pretty excited when I get 50 hits per month.
But kind of recently, blogger developed it's own stat counting mechanism that is VASTLY different than the statcounter stats. Like thousands of hits different every month.
One thing that is different about the two is where people are when they're reading my blog. For basically ever the two highest places have been the US and Australia.
Until Sunday...
BULGARIA.
According to blogger, by hundreds of visitors, Bulgarians are LOVING on Decoybetty.com.
Are any of you from Bulgaria? Is this something we are just not talking about?
Bulgarian readers, show yourselves. I love you - don't be shy.

Yes! Thank you. I also noticed Blogger's stats being vastly different than the stat counter I was already using--by a LOT. What gives, Blogger?
ReplyDeleteI'm not from Bulgaria - I've never even been there (unfortunately). I do, however, have an appreciation for Blogger stats. Especially the search terms. Sometimes the terms people use to find my blogs are quite funny. Sometimes they are just downright disturbing. And I can tell you that a fellow Australian blogger (who shall remain unnamed) told me she has discovered that, due to all of her feet photo posting (you know, those cute foot shots showing your new sandals and fancy pedis), she has acquired quite a following of people with foot fetishes (EEEWW). Some of whom aren't shy about contacting her asking for specific foot poses.
ReplyDeleteOh the things you can discover via blogger stats (tell me you aren't going and checking your search terms right now!)
Oh...my. Interesting stats. Who would have thunk it? Yes, the strangeness of Blogger.
ReplyDeleteThis post made me smile.
Strangely enough I've always received a crazy large amount of hits from Russia. It overshadows the Us, the UK and Aus time three although I've never received a comment from a single Russian! Although when I check out the links that sent people to my blog, there is always this weird spammy one right on top. Now I have Bo idea what it us, or how it came to be connected to my blog but I am sure the two are connected!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for searches that lead people to my blog, most of them are looking for either Peter Pan or Tough Mudder which makes sense as there are lots of pictures of both on my blog but others completely baffle me!!
Unicorns and Rainbows, baby. It's all unicorns and rainbows!
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sure what's going on with blogger... my stats went crazy yesterday.
ReplyDeleteMy stats are all over the place. I get the most hits from the US, Canada, France and Australia (logically), but I've gotten India, Finland, Russia, Singapore etc...
ReplyDeleteThe search terms are my favourite part. Most of the time, people find my blog through pet related searches (lots of sphynx stuff and naked cat stuff..I'm HOPING they mean sphynx cats when they search "naked pussy"....). The other day I got someone from Seattle who had searched "my job is overwhelming" on Google. I totally LOL'd.
Sorry. I'm not from Bulgaria either. Just a boring girl from the Chicago suburbs. Hi bulgaria if you're out there!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the good ole' U S of A but I just had to say your last couple of lines made me chuckle. Love your writing style. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little obsessed with my stats. Not because of the amount of hits, per se, but I'm fascinate by where people come from and how they got to my site.
ReplyDeleteHELLO BULGARIA.
Lor
I don't look at my stats because they're depressing lol!
ReplyDeleteBut I'm from Canada.
Maybe it's just funky IP address in the USA? I dunno.
GASP! South Africa does not even feature on the list and I KNOW you have a few readers from this part of the world. Makes me want to look into my Blogger stats more carefully.
ReplyDeleteBulgaria? Wow! That crazy! So interesting to see where people are checking out your blog! It's crazy!

Well I'm not from Bulgaria either, but I can be held accountable for at least some of the hits from Denmark. I seemed to get quite a few hits from Russia...
ReplyDeleteThat is so RANDOM!!! so weird!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you just have one REALLY committed Bulgarian reader?
ReplyDeleteHmmm, something tells me that there might be a bug in the Blogger stats since they're new. It is cool to see though!! Bulgaria loves you =)
ReplyDeleteEhh I think they may be scammpers. Some of those counties live and strive to get as much information from you then finally contact you in search for a little more. I have visitors all over so I haven't thought much of anyone from Europe, etc. But that above is a lot!!
ReplyDeleteI just have to pop back in and say that I'm jealous of the fact that you only have 8 armpit hairs.
ReplyDeletethat is all.
You only have 8 armpit hairs? Is that 8 in each arm pit or 8 in total? I am so jealous. I thought my armpits were bare but this is outrageous.
ReplyDeleteI have been to Bulgaria but I'm not there currently and wasn't aware of your blog when I was. I also get a lot of hits from Russia and that spammy website shows up at the top of the list as well. No idea what that's all about. Must say it unnerves me.
ReplyDeleteStats puzzle me so I try not to say attention! At one point was using statcounter, blogger, and google analytics at the same time to monitor my stats and they gave vastly different results! So strange!
ReplyDeleteI use statcounter and sitemeter. Neither ever match exactly, but statcounter gives more info so I'm thinking it is the most reliable of the two.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing what city, country, link, or search word brought someone to my blog.
I'm not from Bulgaria but apparently you have a huge following there! I'm in the good ol' USA
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I hope the stat counter in Blogger isn't too generous or seriously, no-one reads my little blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on the Blog Angels project. I would love for you to be involved next time. Sign up starts on 15th July. You just have to fill in a quick form.
