Foolish.
Our second photographer, Brittany, has just posted some more of our wedding photos and while I invite you to go to her blog and leave her so much love that blog breaks (although I don't wish blog breaking on anyone) - i'd really appreciate it if you didn't mention me or this blog at all. Because remember, my blog is a secret. Shhh.
But I wanted to share one of my favourite shots that she shared here.
Looking at this photo, I barely recognise us. Who is that handsome man? But mostly I love the way the this photo makes me feel about this couple that looks familiar but couldn't possibly be us.
They're going on adventures, they're stepping off the curb looking both ways and taking the leap (to mix metaphors).
This couple is holding on to each other so tightly with hands are intertwined.
This couple has stylish taste in footwear.
Paused, in mid motion - mid step, as they navigate together.
Someone in the comments of Brittany's blog said that the photos looked timeless, like they could've been taken 40 years ago, or last week. And that's kind of how our wedding feels too. Was it yesterday? Three months ago? 40 years ago? And yet, I can still feel how my great grandmother's lace felt between my fingers, and how walking on that bridge - that I've walked on a million times - felt in those heels.
But mostly, I'm so grateful when I look at this photo for a few things:
1. That we had such amazing photographers. Seriously.
2. I have that guy to hold my hand.

It's a very beautiful picture, Deidre. It captures a lot of thoughts and feelings in a single shot.
ReplyDeleteI love that Photo, and must agree that it's timeless:)
ReplyDeleteArgh, blogger ate my comment! So rude.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, what I said was that you certainly have a very beautiful photo there. Your thoughts on it are surely the ultimate reward for any photographer, too.
What a great photo! Definitely one to frame and hang up in your place. I wish Max & I had had professional photos for our wedding.
ReplyDeleteYour photographer is very talented :)
NICE DRESS. What a great shot. Peaceful, warm and yes...timeless. You need that on the wall.
ReplyDeleteLove this shot! You two looked so wonderful and happy and I can't wait to go see the other pics!

I love, love, love all the photos on the photographer's website. What a picturesque wedding. And is that a covered bridge I see? Amazing. What a beautiful wedding!
ReplyDeleteI looked through the rest of the photos before I came back and read this, and this one was my favorite too.
ReplyDeleteYou both are lovely.
I don't understand; your blog is a secret? Since you linked to her blog she'll be able to find this post through her stats, though. I'm confused.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. :)
Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteLove it. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteYour picture is timeless...how pretty! =)
ReplyDelete"Timeless" is exactly what came into my head, too! That is an absolutely stunning photo!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fabulous picture!
ReplyDelete@Diary Of Why - My blog is not a secret from Brittany, but it's a secret from my family if they happened to see those photos, so if someone comments "I came here from D's blog" that's a bit suspicious, if my family doesn't even know i have blog.
ReplyDeleteI love them! Such a beautiful bride and groom!
ReplyDeleteStunning. I absolutely love the photo.
ReplyDelete@Deidre, yes, that makes sense of course. We secret bloggers must keep our secrets. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautifully written. And that picture is stunning! Loooove it. Timeless indeed!
ReplyDeleteWhat a romantic post :)
ReplyDeleteI just clicked over and your wedding photos are nothing short of amazing.
ReplyDeleteAnd I *love* your dress.
PS This is my new blog link.

Such a classic photo. Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteThis photo is hauntingly beautiful. Every single picture I have seen from your wedding day speaks to me about just how perfect you and IC are for each other. Love!
ReplyDeleteThat photo is amazing! You should get it put on a canvas and hang it!
ReplyDeleteWow amazing photo!! I would want it printed to a hughmungus size and placed where everyone could see it.

This post, that photo and your description is magical! You clearly have a way with words. It's making me all nostalgic about my wedding. The man I married is sitting beside me with our wedding photos on the wall above our heads. There's something special about that. I needed this right now, after getting into a spat with him over nothing a couple hours ago.
