Napping and watermelon. But not together. That would be messy.

Remember how yesterday I wrote about being tired. Well, today, I took a long nap. Inspector Climate and I had crawled into bed because he was going to give me a massage (Inspector Climate did his first degree in Physiotherapy. He is trained to give excellent massages. Ladies, I highly recommend finding yourself one of 'em). But then we fell asleep. Snuggled up together and intertwined...one of the first posts I wrote when Inspector Climate and I started dating was how he taught me how to nap. Truth.

Taking a nap always seems so naughty. And I think that's why I enjoy them so much. As a self-described goody-two-shoes, I'm a big fan of following the rules and naps seem so extravagant that it must be breaking the rules? Right? Look, a girl's gotta get her kicks somewhere.

Today at the market, we purchased a giant half of a watermelon (seriously, it's huge!) and I took a giant slice to the sink and let watermelon juice drip off my chin and down my arms. It was delicious. I think I'll have another slice after dinner tonight. Yum.

Saturday - you're a success!

  2. Ammon and I usually eat our way through a larage watermelon a week in the summers. We both love them. We discovered last summer that juicing watermelon is pretty much the greatest thing ever, too. Yummmmmm.

I was a champion napper in college, but I hardly nap anymore. You're right, it totally feels naughty!

  4. So great to read about watermelon! I dunno, I think I'd be too cold to enjoy it at the moment.

So cool about the nap. My last nap ended in such a whacky dream. So I haven't taken anymore naps, lately.

  5. I feel the same way about naps! It's almost sinful. I try hard not to fall asleep on the couch, but sometimes it's so good to give in.

I don't even like watermelon, but your description has me wanting to run out and buy some!

  7. I'm totally with you on the nap. Gilbert always tricks me into taking them by asking if we can cuddle..... what can I say, I just can't say no to that face ;)

  8. I just went to the markets today and picked up some delicious fruit. A huge watermelon that will last forever as well.

  9. I try to avoid naps bc I ALWAYS end up tired and cranky after them!

But I bet if I had watermelon to cheer me up, I would take naps more often :)

  10. Whenever I convince myself a nap sounds like a great idea I always end up regretting it. Unless I sent an alarm I end up passing out for 4-5 hours and messing up my sleep schedule for the next few days and then being super grumpy the rest of the day. :/

And wow, watermelon sounds delicious right now.

  11. I love watermelons. Summer = watermelon. I can't nap because once I do I wouldn't be able to sleep at night and I get grumpy the next day.
But what a lovely Saturday spent.

  12. Your post title made me laugh out loud. Glad I wasn't drinking the coffee yet. Short afternoon naps are the best. Watermelon is always so refreshing.

  14. Ohh, yummie -- watermelon -- Summer, can you please come over here soon. Thank you!

Naps are naughty. And fun. And because they're naughty I mostly cannot sleep at all because I spend my supposed to be asleep time thinking why I should not be sleeping. Of course this is extremely counter-productive. ha ha.

    Have a wonderful Sunday!

  15. i am very glad you kept your indulgences separate, that would have been a mess, indeed. In other news, I cannot nap because I wake up in a fog that does not leave me for the rest of the day and it is harder for me to wake up from naps than to wake up in the morning, which is hard enough as it is. So, yeah. yay for you and your napping abilities!

  16. I love this title. Seriously. I totally relate to the naughty napping feeling, but am learning to get over it. A winter in Russia makes me want to do nothing but sleep, so it just feels right! :)
