Surfing the internet today is like being smacked in the face by LOVE, and I like it.
If I had a nickle for the number of posts that I've read that are like "I know it seems like I'm a Valentine's hater...but I love it" I'd have probably a dollar. But haven't been spending that much time on line today. And I'd buy myself something with that dollar.
Anyway, Valentine's day is meh to me. I love seeing men in suits after work going to buy flowers for their loved one. But if Inspector Climate bought me flowers on this day of all days, well, I'd be happy I guess. Who doesn't like flowers?
My point is we celebrate, but not too much.
Let me demonstrate, this year Inspector Climate got me a chilli plant:
This was prior to when the possums have been nibbling on our chillies...Don't even talk to me about it.
I made him one of his favourite dinners that we don't have very often because it's cheesy, and I'm not supposed to eat a lot of dairy these days.
And that's it.
How was your day?
That chili plant is awesome! Never seen one like it. Now I'm going to have to find one! What a great gift. Sorry about the coons :(
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome present! One year, the Chef bought me chocolates (even knowing how much I dislike Valentines day); if he'd bought me a chilli plant, I might have felt differently about the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've even seen a chili plant before. That's a pretty cool gift idea.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great plant! Oh..we've had possum troubles too. One tried to get in to my parents' place.
ReplyDeleteIt was clearly playing possum with them.
Love that you made a cheesy dinner.
Ahh the chilli plant is adorable! I'd much prefer something like that to regular flowers :)

"Surfing the internet today is like being smacked in the face by LOVE" -- haha, so true!! We don't celebrate the day of forced affection, but we did hit the gym together after work... so romantic. :-) I also wrote a blog about my alternate Vday plans with a girlfriend for Food Truck Date Day, check it out!
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwww. I hope you had a happy Valentine's Day :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute colorful chilli plant!!! Totally practical too!! Love the idea! =)
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day lady!
I love that you got a chili plant! They are awesome! I have one too but I did not get it for Valentine's Day! :) I don't really care about Valentine's Day very much but David got me the "Crazy Cat Lady Board Game" which I think is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteThat is one lovely Valentine's present. Cheesy dinner = love and comfort.
ReplyDeleteAmmon usually gives me live plants instead of cut flowers. He and IC are smart men... they obviously understand that gifts we can grow and nurture are much better than half-dead things.
ReplyDeleteThose chilis are beautiful, by the way.
Oh my gosh! It's so cute, I wouldn't be able to eat it!
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding? A chili plant is the best Valentine's gift EVER. Pretty sure.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that he got you a chili plant :)
ReplyDeleteIt's actually really pretty!

Haha! I love the chile plant! I like the way you guys celebrate; I think too many people go over the top.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou do valentines day with class. Theres something a little painful about chocolates/dinner at expensive restaurant/dozen red roses.
To do something personally, you know the other will love. That is true romance.
Hope you are well love, take care x
