Breaking the rules, which by the way is very out of character.

The wonderful Eleanor from Mirror of my World nominated for the Liebster Award.

Besides being incredibly humbled when anyone nominates me for an award, I also undergo some panic! Oh my! Do I have to nominate people who should I nominate? Who has gotten the award before? HELP HELP.

I'm about to go on holidays, and I just can't handle the stress. And so, I'm making my own rules! Yeah, I said it.

First, Eleanor asked her nominees some questions which I'm going to answer! Buckle up.

1. If you could live in any country other than the one you are in where would you live?
Well, I'm already an American living in Australia.  And while I can't logically imagine trying to immigrate to a third country (holy visa issues!), I think Italy would be a truly lovely place to live. But in reality, it's New England or Australia that I call home. More often than not, I want to be in which ever country I'm not currently it at the moment. If that makes any sense at all.2. Chocolate or marshmellow?
Is this a trick question? Chocolate.

3. If you could buy clothes from only one shop for the rest of your life what would it be?

4. What is the coolest place you have travelled to?
Lady Elliott Island was spectacular, the Taj Mahal was pretty awesome, and I loved visiting Memphis - but I'm not sure if that's because I'm currently nostalgic for things that remind me of my grandpa at the moment, or if it was really that cool.

5. If you had a pet what animal would it be and what would you name it?
First of all, I wouldn't have just one! First, I plan on getting a cat or two - ever since I had that whole biliruben experience, I've wanted to get two cats. One named Billy and the other one Rueben (which is awkward because I'd be getting girl cats). And then, I plan on getting chickens - they shall be named ridiculous things like Cinderella, but frankly it depends on the type of chickens. Then when the chickens are grown ups, we'll get a puppy and the puppy will learn to not kill the chickens or the cat from a young age.  The puppy's name? It depends on the puppy.

Then I'll get a baby lion cub. (Inspector Climate just said, no I'll not be getting a lion cub. Jerkface).

6. Which celebrity would be your ideal lover?
My first celebrity crush was John Cusack, and to this day - despite his tweets which make me wonder if he ever learned proper grammar - I've been a bit smitten with him. So I'll pick John. I mean, Say Anything? AMAZING.

7. If you could be a 1950s film star who would you be and why?
Eva Saint Marie - I'd get to be in Hitchcock's North by Northwest with Cary Grant...Yes please.

8.  What is your favourite song and why?
According to Itunes my most played song is Graceland by Paul Simon. That's pretty accurate.

9.  What songs would make up the soundtrack to your life?
Well, it would certainly include:
- Ain't too proud to beg (Marvin Gaye)
- Signed, Sealed, Delivered (Stevie Wonder)
- Love Shack (B52s)
- Emotional Rescue (Rolling Stones)
- Take your mama (Scissor Sisters)
- We Belong (Pat Benatar)
- Baby got back (Sir Mix A Lot)

10. Can you speak a foreign language and if so which ones?
I won the Spanish award in high school and took Spanish in college, I don't remember a single thing. So no, I wish I did though. Someday I'll start practicing.

11. If you could be a fruit, what would you be?
Either a grapefruit or a tomato.

Happy Easter, friends.

  1. Say, I like your soundtrack . . .

  2. Congratulations on the award! I would love to have chicken too! And a dog, more cats, rabbits, a donkey, sheep....:)

  3. Haha - I thought I was the only one who ever had a little thing for John Cusack. Have you seen The Raven?? I guess it depends if you like bloody movies (and E.A. Poe) or not, but gosh...brilliant.

  4. I'd buy from Modcloth but I think Anthro would be a close second!

  5. Congrats on your well-deserved award. I hope you have a good Easter weekend!!

  6. Well done - a deserved award! I also want to be in whichever country I'm not too. I'm clearly bound to be dissatisfied for the rest of my life. Unless I actually GET to the South Pacific.

  7. Very nice blog you have :)

    Coline ♡

  8. As a pretty new (and rubbish at keeping up!) reader, I love reading your answers here...I think a tomato would be friendlier than a grapefruit, go tomato! (and yeah, chocolate all the way!) Hope you're enjoying your easter break!

  9. I love the soundtrack to your life! :-)

  10. Some entertaining answers there. :)

  11. I'd be an apple. :) And I want a goat named Grizelda.

  12. FINALLY! Someone else who has heard of Anthropologie. Love it! I'm really commenting to see how things are going. Haven't seen a new post in a bit, which is more like something I would do than you.

Get a lion cub anyway. It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission ;)
