My week(s) in photos

It's been a while since I did my weekly photo recap, and there is a reason for that. I stopped taking photographs with my phone. I also don't go anywhere anymore. Ah, unemployment. But this past week, I made a point of trying to take a few more photographs than normal (>0).

While I had the flu, they cut down a tree that's on my route to yoga. I nearly cried.

We had a different kitty visitor a few days ago. His name is Percy (no, I did not name a stranger's cat, he had a name tag). He also does not have a tail. I apologise for the grainy-ness of these photos. It was twilight and Percy was on the move.

He tried to come into our house. I nearly opened the door for him, but he isn't very friendly. In the few minutes he tried to bite me and scratch me meanwhile meowing and rubbing himself against my legs. What's with the mixed messages, bro?

I tried putting coconut oil in my hair hoping it would tame the Jew 'fro. MAGIC.

Our basil harvest for this year.

Pesto that I'm freezing for the winter. Me thinks it won't get us through all the cold dark months ahead.

What did your week look like?

  1. Coconut oil, I'll have to give that a try . . . especially when it's high humidity. That's when my hair gets really crazy!

  2. I totally you know how you feel about the tree! I am really sorry, it looks like such an old tree!
Maybe the cat made some bad experiences and that is why he reacted like that? I don't know. But he does look cute!

  4. Too bad they cut down the tree! I had a fun and creative weekend, and tonight and tomorrow is a big holiday her in The Netherlans because of Queensday (which will be Kingsday from now on)

And how much do I love coconut oil? Bake with it, cook with it, apply it to my arms for keratosis pilaris -- it's magic :-)

  9. coconut oil is the greatest for everything! I know what you mean about the tree too, I remember crying over the same thing when I was younger, right after learning how we needed trees for oxygen in school :(

  16. I love your photo recap. I'm not sure why you decided to quit taking photos with your phone, but I've been considering the same.

  17. Coconut Oil. The uses never stop. Hairball relief for cats, moisturizer, face wash, people hair tamer, actual cooking ingredient. I... I heart it all.

What's your recipe for pesto? We have... well if the garden fairs as well this year as last, we're gearing up to have a lot of basil.

Lastly, cats. Man. what furry little jerks they can be. (Percy is pretty handsome though.)

  22. You and your hair look gorgeous! "Jew fro" = hee! LOVE.

The tree that was lopped off? Waaaahhhh. Why do they DOOOO THAAAAT?! I mean, I know that sometimes trees are sick and need to be chopped down but...sometimes they're not, dammit! Sniff.

  23. Great roundup of images, your basil harvest is abundant, I wish my herb plants would grow like that, do you have any gardening tips for me on this?Thank you for taking the time to stop by sweety!

  24. What I wouldn't give to have some of that pesto! If I had a garden (and cats that wouldn't destroy potted plants on the balcony), I'd plant so much basil and coriander. It's ridiculously expensive in stores, and as much as I'd love to make my own pesto, the cost of the amount of basil I'd need to buy would just be insane.

Also? Your hair is awesome, and so is that stubby tailed cat :)

  25. What a smart idea to freeze pesto for the winter. From the pics it looks tasty!

  30. That basil really makes me yearn for summer in the states! Maybe you and IC can just come visit the states when it's all cold and dreary...

  31. Your hair looks gorgeous! And I'm wondering if that car was born without a tail, as some are, of if he lost it in a tragic accident. Which may be why he is a weirdo.

  32. That tree looks like it was really old too. It's like they were waiting until you weren't there to cut it. Sneaky and mean. And your hair looks great!
