NaBloPoMo Day 12: Blogging

So as you know and probably are completely annoyed by at this point, I did a little blog survey to get to know more about you and how you hang out with me on this little corner of the internet.

Here are some of the things I found out:

Almost 60% of you would like me to post 2-3 times a week. Which essentially means, I got up my game when it's outside of NaBloPoMo (which is cool, I should up my game. Consider game upped).

45% of you come to my blog directly and don't use any kind of feed reader (why is that? Is that just with me? Or with all blogs? This question definitely made me ask more questions than it answered). The rest of you are pretty evenly spread between twitter, bloglovin, Instagram, etc.

A whopping 67% of you want more posts about life in Australia. Heard. Loud and clear. While the rest were quite evenly spread.

The results were not very conclusive about what you'd NOT like me to write about (most people said, "write about whatever you want") so nothing really to report there. But with some small spikes to stop talking about climate change (although more people wanted me to keep talking about it), Unemployment (although more people wanted me to talk about it), and my hair (although, again, more people wanted me talk about that too.) As I said, not conclusive.

Most of you are older than me. Half of you live in the US and the other half are spread all around the world. 30% of us exist mostly in pajamas (this why you're my people). 27% of us have rules and regulations to our diets.

Almost all of you are all over all the social media networks (rock on people)...(shameless plug addition (and may I invite you to plug your social media in the comments. Cheers) - You can follow me on twitter @decoybetty and on Instagram @Decoybetty and on Pinterest @Decoybetty and on Bloglovin. Shamelessly plugged).

You guys asked heaps of good questions, and I promise I'll get to more of them as the month goes on. I'm currently knitting a little something for one lucky winner (it may or may not be a hat. Ok, it's a hat.) who took the survey. However, if you'd like to throw your name in the hat again leave a comment asking me question or if you have anything you'd like me to talk about in a vlog (I'm scared, but I also want to do it) leave suggestions.

  1. Oh, you do have an audience who love to read what you write. All the best to the blogging this month.

  2. isn't it interesting to find out what your bloggers think of you? i think i might steal that idea from you and pin that survey into a blog post one day!

  3. I keep thinking about doing a survey, but I like what I write about so I don't want to see a survey result that says 'I hate ___ posts, stop them!' and they're like, my favorite ones. I'd be sad! hahaha

    1. I think I just wouldn't ask that question again - it is much more useful to see the spread of all the things people want you to write more about!

  6. I don't think you can please 100% of the people 100% of the time so write what you want. With that being said, depending on your blogging goals you really do need to be hitting about 3 posts a week. Otherwise people tend to forget that you're out there. I think it's awesome that you threw yourself out there and did the survey!

I have to get up the nerve to do a vlog. It just seems like it would be awkward!

  8. Don't ever stop talking about climate change ;-)

2-3 times a week is a good amount, but I would TOTALLY need to up my game too. I think I did 2-3 posts last month...WHOOPS.
