NaBloPoMo Day 19: Day in the life of the unemployed.

6 AM: Alarm goes off. I question whether I slept at all. Inspector Climate gets out of bed and turns on the internet and makes his breakfast.

6:10 AM: I turn on my computer and start checking my email and blogs.

6:30 AM: I showered.

6:45 AM: I keep checking blogs and my favourite youtube channels (unemployment has meant developing a new obsession with youtube!)

7:00 AM: Inspector Climate kisses me goodbye and heads to work.

7:30 AM: I read over my yoga homework and email it to Inspector Climate to print it out at work (we don't have a printer).

8:50 AM: I take out the washing that Inspector Climate popped in the machine before he left for work and hang it out side to dry.

9:00 AM: I walk to yoga.

11:25 AM: I'm back home. I turn on the kettle to boil water to drink my disgusting Chinese Medicine Herbs.

11:27 AM: I squeeze a bunch of lemons and make some lemonade concentrate which I then put into an ice cube tray.

12 PM: I check my email again. And start looking into the volunteer work I'm doing.

12:25 PM: My sister in law tries to skype me from the US.

12:40 PM: My nephew is being a grouchy pants and I have to say goodbye.

1 PM: I make myself lunch and then watch more youtube videos (gah, obsession!) while gchatting with my bestie.

1:30 PM: I renew my efforts in volunteering and design a facebook graphic...

4 PM: I'm amazed at how long it took me to resize a bunch of photographs. I think about what I'll post for NaBloPoMo and start scouring the internet.

5:20 PM: I start writing this very post.

5:27 PM: Inspector Climate gets home for work and gets ready to go for a run.

5:35 PM: I start making dinner....

6:10 PM: Dinner is ready we eat!

6:43 PM: I start reading aloud as Inspector Climate does the dishes. We have a lot of reading to do tonight. So after he is done, he reads to me while I finish knitting for my survey giveaway.

8:30 PM: We get ready for bed.

8:45 PM: We snuggle in bed and talk before falling asleep at about 9:15.

  1. OK, I was going to comment on this post . . . except I happened to see 'souvereign' in the sidebar and now I can't get it out of my mind. It's totally going to be my word of the day.

Speaking of days, hope yours was good--and a lovely evening to you!

  2. This day sounds lovely to me! Except if I had all that time off I would sleep. Definitely not wake up and shower at 6:30am. I can't even do that now!

Oh, I love, love, love YouTube!! You know that I watch Robert Downey Jr. interviews on there!! Best. Invention. Ever!! Because he talks soft and/or fast, plus I have attention deficit disorder, I love the rewind button!! Brilliant!! ;-D
Wait. Chinese medicine herbs are disgusting? Really....? Perhaps it is an "acquired taste"!! ;)
"12:40 PM: My nephew is being a grouchy pants and I have to say goodbye.". Crack. Me. Up!! ;-D

  4. Oh man, I could sure use a day like that! I am on maternity leave with the little one. But most of my time is for her. (As it should be.) But it would be so nice to just have one full day to myself...!

  6. You make being unemployed sound like a dream!! And great idea about the lemon concentrate ice cubes, I want to do that now! I usually just squeeze a slice of lemon into my water, but this sounds much better.

  7. Sounds awesome! Minus the whole no paycheck thing. That is always the catch! Love your little homework printing ring you got going via his work! Gotta do what you gotta do.

  8. Sounds like a great day! I am addicted to YouTube, too. Beauty videos are my first obsession, booktube videos are my second. :)

  9. I'm glad that you have interesting and useful ways to occupy yourself. You know, I genuinely appreciate this insight - I haven't really been unemployed since finishing high school. Thanks for opening up your world :-)

  10. YouTube. I still have not gotten obsessed yet! Thank God!

Also, I am impressed that you still get up that early. I would never do that!

    I am too lazy!
