Holiday! (+ Cheers not Jeers).

Buckle up, we've got a lot to talk about.

1. I'm sorry I didn't elaborate more in my last email about my new job (!), but I have a general policy to not talk about work too much on my blog. I will say this it's in my field and it's currently only for six months but there is a chance it will be extended. It's also full time.

2. Why yes, I already am a bundle of anxiety and worry about my new upcoming changing schedule and how much my life will change and how busy and tired I'll be during the yoga term (we're currently on mid-semester break). I'm trying not to be a crazy person, but you know be who you are. This doesn't at all diminish how incredibly thrilled and grateful and ecstatic I am about being employed. It's just I worry. I have anxiety about new things. It is what it is. Stay tuned for more dramatic posts in the future.

3. For the first time all year I feel like I'm on holiday. I don't have to check job sites, I don't have to write applications, I don't have to feel badly about my inability to get a job. And so, I've created a list of things that I'd like to accomplish before work starts:

I got started right away, yesterday I read Let it Snow cover to cover without taking a break and it was glorious. I'll soon start the Book Thief. Kirsti kindly let me these books and I'm so grateful that she did!

The rest of the things we'll see how we go! It's nice to have goals even if some of those goals are "get labels off of the recycled glass jars so you can use them as spice jars"... (anyone have any ideas? A lot of the jars are already filled with spices so i don't really want to submerge them in hot water I also don't want to use chemicals like nail polisher remover).

4. Cheers not Jeers time! Big thanks to Casey from Aslan's Auspicious Albany Adventure for starting this link up! Go say hi to her too!
Cheers not Jeers

So on Tuesday morning I was reviewing all my notes for my job interview and doing a bit more research about the company etc etc when I heard that delightful dinging noise of a gchat! And it was Juliet from the Evolving Revolver and she gave me a pep talk and we talked about mascara and lipstick (which I did wear by the way) and prepping for job interviews. We chatted about how were terrible at ironing. And then she told me she was pregnant! So please go and shower her blog with congratulations and cheer. I've been following her blog since 2008 and as she said in her most recent post things are always evolving - like her little family! So go! Please! I'm so smitten with her writing style and how she tells stories.

  1. Congrats on the job! Great news :)

And I'm so happy for Juliet too. She's been one of my favourite people ever since I met her here in France, and I'm thrilled for her and her Frenchie :)

    Good news all around!

  4. Congratulations on your new job in your field! You've worked so far for this and nerves are to be expected. I once heard someone say "do it afraid" and I've had to say that to myself on more than one occasion!

  10. I think white vinegar might get the labels off. Use a sponge and saturate the label so that you know the vinegar gets to the sticky stuff. Good luck!

"I have anxiety about new things. It is what it is.". I think that everybody has anxiety about new things. It is a relative feeling. You are definitely not alone!! ;-D
